Gamble is one of the largest vineyard owners in Oakville, though they lease most of their holdings, which they designate Gamble Ranch, to Beringer. But their much smaller Gamble Family Vineyard is the best part, and literally right beside Screaming Eagle.
Here’s Galloni on the 2015 vintage:
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is another terrific wine from Tom Gamble. Ripe, exuberant and flamboyant in style, the 2015 offers plenty of the vintage's raciness and yet manages to do so without being overbearing. Crème de cassis, plum, licorice, chocolate, spice and menthol build effortlessly in the glass. There is plenty to admire in this intense, powerful Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2013 – in this vintage of all Napa Cab vintages – is even more brilliant, as you’d expect. Fortunately, I suppose, neither Galloni or the Wine Advocate (which started with the 2016 vintage, and loved it) reviewed it.
