The importer says:
A lively wine of ruby red color, the Domaine de Mongillon is distinguished by its delectable cherry notes with hints of herbes de Provence. This wine shows good structure and is not at all heavy. Very fruity throughout, it is an easy-drinking wine. Domaine de Mongillon is vinified in stainless steel and cement tanks to retain its freshness and fruity character.
Domaine de Mongillon has been managed by Cédric Cosset since 2009. The property’s 100 acres lie on clay-limestone soil, with small pebbles covering the ground. The majority of its plots are located in the classified village of Visan, a picturesque hamlet with less than 1,000 acres under vine. Visan — which is hard to find on the export market — enjoys one of the higher vineyard altitudes in the Côtes du Rhône, reaching 1,200 feet. The wines from Visan’s windswept vineyards are generally described as lively and fresh, presenting full ripeness and great balance.
