Named for the original Marietta’s husband, this is ALWAYS one of the great Cabernet values in California – and this 2015 is especially delicious.
The 2015 Armé, Marietta's Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend, is fabulous, not to mention a tremendous value. Grilled herbs, plums, blueberry jam, spice, mint and leather give the 2015 its nuance and complexity. Supple and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2015 hits all the right notes. What a gorgeous wine this is.
CellarTracker, which rates this the best Armé yet, agrees:
I am reluctant to review this wine because local suppliers might run out. This garnet-colored, estate grown Geyserville Cab is simply a steal. It delivers classic Cab flavors, structure, body, acid, fruit, and so-soft tannins in a big, generous wine that will make your steak move over and salute. (Note: no green veggie flavors.)
It has been too long since I have had a Cab this good at a price like this. 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 6% Malbec, and 2% Petit Verdot are a winning combination. After all the fuss and precious wine hoopla, it is enormously refreshing to find a winemaker who just makes really good wine at a fair price. Buy it, share it, drink it now, but lay a few bottles aside. With these tannins and 14.6% alcohol, this wine will bring a smile to your face for several years yet.
