The Wine Advocate rates this the best Talbott Sleepy Hollow since 1993:
The 2015 Chardonnay Sleepy Hollow Vineyard delivers intense grapefruit, lemon curd and white peach notes with hints of cedar, nutmeg, fresh ginger and marzipan with a waft of beeswax. The medium-bodied palate delivers on flavors, with bags of citrus and spice characters, supported by a creamy texture and just enough freshness, finishing long.
Vinous agrees, rating this 2015 the finest Sleepy Hollow Chardonnay to date:
(50% new French oak): Limpid yellow-gold. Displays potent, mineral-accented aromas of tangerine, white peach, honey and tarragon. Sappy and concentrated in style, offering ripe pit and orchard fruit flavors that become livelier as the wine opens up. A gingery flourish adds spicy cut to a long, lees-tinged finish that leaves behind sweet butter and honey notes.
What Talbott first did, almost uniquely at the time, was combine the creamy richness of a Batard-Montrachet or Corton-Charlemagne with the freshness and intensity of a premier cru Chablis. And it’s even better now.
