From the Underground Wine Project in Washington State, this is an innovative blend of Sangiovese and Syrah.
The winery says:
Last year’s cult rosé is back, and better than ever! Perfectly pink, with flavors full of fresh picked cherries, crisp watermelon, pomegranates, and lip smacking acidity to balance out the mouthwatering fruit sweetness, this years “Mr. Pink” deserves to be stocked in your fridge. But just like last year, do NOT wait until the warm summer months, as it will be long gone.
Stock up while you can!
(They’re right. This was written in March, and the winery is long sold out.)
It also sells out long before the reviews, but this is what the Wine Enthusiast said of the “Best Buy” 2017:
A very pretty pale-salmon color, this blend of Sangiovese and Syrah brings exuberant aromas of strawberry bubblegum, honeydew melon and pink-grapefruit peel. It drinks dry with plenty of strawberry and grapefruit flavors that persist on the finish.
This is exactly what a dry rosé should be: fun, fresh and delicious. And at only 12.5% alcohol, eminently quaffable, too.
So if you want to get with the cool kids (and who doesn’t?), here’s your chance!
